Triumph TR4 1962
In July 1961 the first Triumph TR4 was built, as the successor of the successful Triumph TR3 models. This specific example is an early example delivered in 1962. Executed in the most desirable colour combination. British racing green with an black interior and white piping. An A type overdrive and painted wire wheels makes it complete.
It was sold new in California where it stayed until 1995, in this year Mr. P. Philips imported the Triumph to The Netherlands. At the end of 1995 it purchased by its current owner. He did some minor work on the Triumph to make it roadworthy, on July 2th of 1997 the Triumph received it Dutch license. At this time the mileage was 34300 miles.
At the end of 1999 with a mileage of 36358 miles a full body off restoration was started. Severals task like engine rebuild, sheet metal work, and upholstery was done by specialist. The assembly was done very carefully by the owner. In 2009 the work was finished, with a stunning Triumph as result.
With only 2500 miles covered since the restoration this Triumph still looks stunning and it drives perfectly. It’s always stored dry and very well maintained. The Triumph comes with all the invoices and pictures of the restoration.
